Yeah, um... Like I said, Ursula gave me nightmares, and it was thanks in part to that ruddy song. XD; And now I'm itching to play Kingdom Hearts again to put her in her place...
Scar, though, is... different. He's a ruddy creep, but at least I wasn't afraid of him. XD;
LOL, you'd probably love Kingdom Hearts if you could play it--in the first game, there's a league of Disney villains headed by Maleficent-- Ursula, Jafar, Oogie Boogie, Capt. Hook, and Hades. Clayton's there, too, but he's not a part of the league.
There's no league in Kingdom Hearts II, but they all (except for Hook and Clayton) come back for revenge, along with Big Bad Pete, Scar, Captain Barbossa, and Shan-Yu.
I wouldn't necessarily call Ursula "creepy" per se, but she was definitely frightening at the end of the movie. Hades is a lot like Iago- they both make great comical villains.
Yes, I've seen and own the movie. In fact, if memory serves I believe I saw it in elementary school when it first came out.
I have a real soft spot for Disney villians. Ursula was delightfully wicked. I think my favorite Disney villians would be Hades from Hercules, Captain Hook from Peter Pan and King John from the woefully underated Robin Hood.
Ooh, King John- now that's a good choice. You're right- Robin Hood is a truly underrated movie. In fact, I'm sad to say I had forgotten about it until you had brought it up.
Tangled is absolutely fabulous- I have it on pre-order from Amazon right now, and I haven't bought a not!Pixar Disney movie in a very long time. :D
---And I *adore* all version of the Peter Pan verse ever since my family first WORE OUT our VHS of the Disney version in the 1990's. The original text is just UGH, and there's a whole other level of Capt Hook to be explored from the what-makes-a-person-a-villain stand point. ♥
I really should see it. I wanted to see it in theaters, but since I don't drive I couldn't find anybody to go with me. Not even my mom, which was a bit surprising seeing how much she loves Disney movies.
I haven't read the book, though. Is it really that bad?
