Hello all!  I haven't written a LJ entry in a while so here it goes.  Naturally there has been a ton of things happening in my life thus far this year.  I just had a fine quarter at OSU for one thing.  I took three classes:  History of Latin American Women, Rural Sociology, and Advanced Spanish Grammar.  My faviorite class was naturally the History of Latin American Women for which I recieved an A.  My second favorite was Rural Sociology for which I recieved a B+.  Advanced Spanish Grammar was not only boring but very difficult.  The teacher was a nightmare and I hated every minute of the time I spent in class.  I recieved a wopping C+, and thank God I got that grade.  I hated it so much.  I could not get into the material and I felt distracted by the teacher as well as the other students (assholes).

Enough about school.  I have to say that I had a nice visit for Christmas with my family.  I loved seeing my emediate family, but my extended family was a utter nightmare.  I have to say that my family is crazy.  My uncles and aunts have so many problems.  Here's one little revelation that came to my attention when I got home.  I was wondering why my Aunt Becky and cousin Amber acted so distant when I tried to talk to them at Thanksgiving.  Actually I pointed out that they were acting funny and that when they entered they did not say hello to me ... not even as my Grandmother would say "Boo Shit!"  My mother told me that she had heard that cousin Amber was getting a divorce from her husband of two years...which is like really unheard of in our family as they are all super-Catholics.  On the other hand I have no reason or inclination to look down upon her decison to get rid of him.  She said that he was lazy, never wanted to go out, always wanted to watch TV, on their honeymoon just sat inside and watched TV while see went out alone to the beach, and the she wanted to be rid of him childless and young as she would love to meet a new man with more common interests.  I short, I think she made the right choice.  At least she didn't wait until she had wasted both of their lives!

Also my mother let me know that my cousin Jacob, the brother of Amber and son of Becky, was recently kicked out of school as he was caught SELLING DRUGS!!!  Let me give you some background information concering this problem.  It's bad enough that he was doing drugs, it's much worse that he was selling them too, but what makes it horrible is that they all live in a small southern town and he attended the church affiliated (Baptist) school that all of his families friends, neighbors, and classmates attended.  They agreed to not press charges, but I think that thier family will be looked down upon now and the chruch members will now not allow their children to play with Jacob or want to associated with my aunt and uncle.  It's really going to mean and extreme change in lifestyle.  Also, I believe that Jacob was supposed to graduate this year from high school and so he may be held back and be inelligible for athletic scholarships.  He was a fine basketball player.  It is a shame that he got himself mixed up in all of this when his grades were fairly good and he seemed to be lining himself up for getting out of "Dog Patch" America.

It is none of my business I guess.  All I want to show you is that this kind of thing was setting the tone for my Christmas with the extended family on my father's side.  Oh yeah...I thought it was really appropriate that my stupid and selfish aunt Karen asked me, "...do you think that it would be bad if I drank a beer before chruch?"  I felt like saying, "...well as long as you can keep your drunk of a husband off my back while I get the rest of our house ready for Christmas so that you can have a good time, dump your kids on me, have a grand old time, trash our house, and then leave me to clean up after you, you drunkard husband, and your two bratty kids.  Sure have a beer!"  Instead I said that I didn't think that there was much of a difference if she did or she did as it was only one beer.  I should of said " let your heart guide you.  Do you think that God Almighty would wish you to abstain one hour without drinking on his birthday before you when to his house and praise his son's birth.  Of course not.  Here have three...one for the Father...one for the Son...and one for the Holy Ghost...Amen my sister!"

On to other news.  I have to say that I enjoyed seeing Fabiola and Loandra when they came and stayed for the weekend.  It was a blast.  I have to admit that I also miss Julia.  Oh why have my girls left me in this deselat midwest to wain in their absense!!  Oh well...at least I got to see Fabiola and I will be seeing Julia more when she returns from France.  Well I have to be going as I have to go and bother Kevin some more!!!  I got money, presents, and new and invigorated sense of irony surviving CHRISTMAS 2003!!!!!!MUAHHHHHHHH    HAAAAAAAAAA HHHHHHHHHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
