Broad Street Run training: Week 2

Feb 07, 2010 12:46

Monday, February 1 - Sunday, February 7

Monday: Stretching yoga class.

Tuesday: 1.5 miles! The longest I've run to date, and doing the Chi Running technique is so crazy great - my knees and hips felt like butter the whole time. No pain at all. It actually feels good to run!

Wednesday: Missed my cross-training due to a massive headache that wouldn't go away. :(

Thursday: Ran 1.5 miles this morning before work. My right hip is complaining a little today, but otherwise a good run.

Friday: Ran 1.5 miles, then on a psychotic whim took a spinning/freeweights half and half class. I feel amazing, and that lingering, sharp soreness in my right hip and glute is all gone. YAY! We're supposed to get a foot of snow tomorrow, so that will be my rest day.

Saturday: Enormous snow storm. It's lovely but I can't even open the door! A good day to rest. :) [NB: I got so freaking restless that I did cable On Demand aerobics videos. News flash: Jillian Michaels is hot and I want to make out with her, I admit it.]

Sunday: Cross-training: spent an entire hour digging out my back door, walkway and gate from under 28" of snow. I am beat!

Time left to race: 12 weeks
