The last legion: Things I loved and I hated

It isn't that I didn't like "The Last Legion". In fact I like it very much, despite its bad things. Because it had also good things.

; The good:

The cast: Even if everybody thinks that the entire cast is miscast in their respective roles, I think that they did an awesome work.

I thought at first that Colin Firth would suck as a Roman general, but I was wrong. He was great.

Sir Ben Kingsley is the awesomeness personified, and his Ambrosinus was cooler than the one in the book.(execpt for "That scene in the battle which almost ruined a great work and I won't talk about it")

Aishwarya rai is amazing beautiful and pulls well her role as the Byzantine warrior Meera. She kicked absolute ass...

The kid is absolutely cute, I love him. (and yay for him! he gets his revenge!)

I loved the interaction among Aurelianus' men, specially Battiatus and Demetrius (and I felt very sad when Battiatus died at the end). Rupert Friend (Demetrius) is hot!!!

About Wulfilla, Odoacer and the other goths... Not too much (They even showed more of Vortigern) but Wulfilla is a character that I loved from the part of the novel that I managed to read, so my love is translated to the movie. (yes, yes, even if he is a baddie and kills poor Romulus'parents, but I have a soft spot for baddies, besides, little Romulus kills him at the end)

The movie was fun, like those old pepla (Pepla: plural of peplum and if anybody here says Peplums, I'll take his or her heart out with a spoon).

The fun of identifying where the actors came from, and the realisation that three of them had participated in versions of "Pride and prejudice": Colin Firth as Mr Darcy in the 1995 version, Aishwarya rai as Lalita Bashki (Elizabeth Bennet) in the movie "Bride and prejudice" and Rupert Friend as Mr Wickham in the 2005 version. Owen Teale (Vatrenus) appeared as a cannibal in "Torchwood" and as Pelagius in "king Arthur". John Hannah (Nestor)appears in "The Mummy" movies, Kevin McKidd (Wulfilla) in Rome, and Thomas Sangster (Romulus) in Love actually.

bad things:

Accuracy....

- The thing of the ceasars coming from an only dinasty when there were several
- Paganism when the Cristianism was imposed
-A medieval castle????
- Excalibur IS NOT the sword in the stone

kevin mckidd, ben kingsley, owen teale, the last legion, aishwarya rai, colin firth, thomas sangster, rupert friend
