I have been climbing mountains since last year. My friends do ask me what I get from it. Honestly, ask all of us (hikers and mountaineers) and you will not get a definite answer. It is really hard to explain why we want to go hiking. As for me, it’s the feeling of being close to nature. You’re not just traveling; you work hard to get to your destination. We do get tired and say “I give up” along the trail but when we get to the top of the mountain, it’s as if we didn’t walk for hours with heavy bags on our backs. Hiking is our way of disconnecting from the busy world and city. From electricity and gadgets.
Let me share the pictures from my recent trip to Nagsasa Cove. It was in Zambales. To go there, we have to walk for more or less 5 hours. Pass through grasslands, rivers, climb Mt. Nagsasa and walk on a “desert”. But it was all worth it as Nagsasa Cove is really a beautiful place. Ano man ang makita mo, maganda talaga.
