"Mei-mei, it's been too long!"

I only seem to really post to this writing journal around NaNoWriMo time. I guess because it's more fun to write than to write about writing.

About NaNo, I somehow managed to write 30,000 in the past two weeks in spite of the wreck my arm still is. If I can get the other 20,000 down within the first two weeks of October, I'll submit it for my word count. It's still 50,000 in a month, right? Not my fault inspiration struck in September. :P

Speaking of inspiration, I've been ending up with cross-over characters lately. That had only happened to me once before in the 13 years I've been writing seriously. It weirded me out a bit, thought it'd get me all confused, but then my boy
wolfmage75  mentioned that he wanted to create a Wiki for ideas for his big project. Lightbulb! A Wiki of my own would be fantastic for keeping track of character profiles and cross-over points! I'm using ClearWiki, which is free and oh-so-wonderfully WYSIWYG. ^_^ I'm trying to be careful exactly what I put in there, though, because even though it's "private", the host itself can access my stuff. So no major plot stuff. Just quickie overviews and character profiles, really.

I also made my own form-field PDF version of a character profile sheet, but since it's mainly based on someone else's sheet, I won't be posting it. I'm working out what's really useful and what I should remove in future versions, though, so maybe eventually I'll have one that's enough of my own for me to release it unto the unsuspecting Web. ;)

In other news, about the unsuspecting Web... my Middle School/High School crush has a MySpace now. He learned to use the Internet! And apparently to speak English. He's living in one of the north-eastern states, but I won't be any more specific so as to hopefully salvage his dignity... since I have an entire freaking LJ of poems I wrote about him back in the day. Now that, my friends, is embarrassing. I'm sure he can find it quite easily, if he chooses to Google me, and since I wrote him a note this past summer (a hello, best wishes, congratulations, goodbye) he knows my s/n. Ah, well. At least he'll know how much he was loved. Just as long as I don't make it easy for anyone to find him trough me, it's all good. Unless his wife is the paranoid sort...

Ah, me. What a fucking world.

May the Gods bless my Gemini. May he continue to show the potential I saw in him that everyone else chose to ignore. ♥
