Of shoes and things...

Presenting, Marianne's new rock climbing shoes!

Scarpa, Helix
(Yes, they're green with obnoxious orange laces.) They're much more comfortable than my current pair of:

Mad Rock, Shark
Everytime I put on the Sharks, I am reminded of the ancient Chinese practice foot-binding. They're slip-ons, no lace, no velcro, no zip, hence the difficulty in getting them on. So since I have new shoes, I'm thinking of selling the Sharks. Anyone interested? They're a 6.5, worn less than 5 times indoors. I'm raising funds to buy:

Chaco ZX2
*drool* Very tempting to buy myself a pair as a reward at the end of semester. Then, I realised that the semester ends in the middle of winter. Why would I need a new pair of sandals in the middle of winter?

If I may say so, I think God has really blessed my climbing endeavours. All my gear have been gifts. My harness was from a friend in Singapore who distributes for the brand. My original shoes were paid for as a birthday present from my sister. And my chalk bag is from my uncle who so happened to have a chalk bag because my other aunt and cousins had given it to him for use as a water bottle carrier. And, my new shoes are a gift too! God knows how much climbing relieves my stress and makes me happy.
