[MCU] Hawkeye Trailer Dropped, and I'm... Maybe Interested After All?
Click to viewHawkeye's never been one of my faves, although Jeremy Renner has managed to land some good moments throughout the MCU. His "you are an Avenger" monologue toward the end of Age of Ultron, for instance. "The city is flying, we're fighting an army of robots, and I have a bow and arrow. None of this makes any sense."
What strikes me about this trailer is 1), humor, and not just humor but humor reminiscent of 80s action movies. Folks in the RPGnet thread are comparing the vibe to Lethal Weapon; 2) hey, I know the new girl! She had a bit part at the end of my favorite movie of all time, Charlie's Angels, as an unnamed new recruit. She's the one with the line, "RBG is an Angel?!"; and 3) she seems to be playing a similar narrative role to Yelena Belova (aka Baby Widow) in the Black Widow movie, and I thought Florence Pugh was the best thing to happen to the MCU since Brie Larson punchsploded a starship.
