Back in march I posted about an Idaho startup that wants to make solar panel roads. At the time it was two people working out of their garage, and they'd built a couple of prototypes funded by the USDOT.
Since then, they've launched an
Indiegogo campaign to raise funds for the next level of development, which blew past its $1 million goal and kinda got everyone's attention. A random sampling of the ensuing articles includes the
Chicago Tribune,
Green Car Reports,
NBC News,
CleanTechnica, the
Christian Science Monitor,
c/net, and someplace called
Lunatic Laboratories. George Takei tweeted about it to his 8 million followers, and Mark Ruffalo (Dr. Banner from The Avengers) has also promoted it.
One of the Indiegogo contributors made a new video about it, which I actually don't like because I'm old and unhip, but I'll post here anyway:

(Actually, the part toward the end where it lampshades the somber environmentalist videos of old is kinda funny).
ETA: oh yeah, they also have a
Facebook page.
