This was on Ravely, reposting for further publicity:
Handknit Heroes, the first comic book for knitters, launched last weekend, and I’m doing a couple of launch party meet n’ greets this weekend and next week:
* Saturday, January 24, 2009, 1-3 PM at Needlepoints West at 6227 West 87th St., Los Angeles. 310-670-8857.
* Wednesday, January 28, 2009, 6-8 PM: A Mano Yarn Center at 12808 Venice Blvd., Los Angeles. 310-397-7170.
I wrote and published Handknit Heroes, which comes with a nifty pattern (the POW Hooded Scarf), and a cool, fun storyline about teenage superheroes who knit. I’ll have some copies to peruse, and the shop will be stocking Issue #1. Plus, I’ll be bringing the knitted scarf samples so you can see how it looks when it’s all knitted up.
Hope to see you there!
(Handknit Heroes is the first graphic novel for knitters. Each issue features a great storyline, terrific artwork, and a beautiful, easy-to-knit pattern.)
Note: I did not write or create this comic, nor am I on tour!
