Okay - I have a major dilemma.
I want to go into music in college. And now that I'm looking at it I have to choose between Opera and Music Theatre.
I can honestly say I love Music Theatre better than Opera. But the Music Theatre requirements aren't only acting and singing but dancing as well. And while I can dance....I can't..."DANCE".....like...I've never taken dance lessons. The only reason I can dance now is because I'm in showchoir and i've done some plays. And the acting...i've not done much either. So I'm scared to try out for it.
But then Opera...the opera sound is something that i don't really like. The only thing about it though is that it is classical training. I've been told it's easier to switch from Opera to Music theatre later on in life than it is to switch from music theatre to opera. Classical training will help me improve my singing.
But I honestly don't like the sound of Opera....
But there are ups and downs about both....so i just don't know what to choose. Something I don't like but have a better chance of getting accepted for. Or something I like but not sure if I can do....
