The last and the only exam is done!
The procedure of the exam was interesting. It was different than in Vaasa.
Firstly, the student card is scanned so many times: in the entrance to the examination room, before the exam starts, during the exam and after when the answers are returned.
Also the room looked especially dedicated to the exam. All the tables were for one person and marked according to passed subjects. There were some in the room at the same time. In other words it was not possible to pass the maths sitting at the table for the English. And examination questions are distributed also according to the tables.Furthermore there were toilets in the examination room. Well, within the whole exam I tried to imagine how possible to cheat in such conditions, i.e. to hide the course book in the toilet, or to put crib sheets in socks or bra, or… and read them in the toilet and so on :-) Well, it must have been my naughty past talked inside me :-)
The difference I liked is that it’s possible to talk to neighbours almost till you get your paper to answer. There is no requirement of absolute silence when the students enter examination room. But the rest is the same, no phones, no books. Only pen, eraser and student card are allowed. Oh yes, and food is allowed as well. Not only water but any kinds of sandwiches, cookies, apples and so on.
The exam takes 4 hours and the student can leave it not earlier than in 2 hours. It’s tough for those who have decided to “give up”. Also the exam is anonymous. There is no name on the exam papers. They contain only the code issued by the examiners during the exam. So the judgement is supposed to be impartial, unless the teacher knows students’ hand writings. However, in our era of computer typing it looks less likely.
To conclude, I saw that student come to the exam to eat and go to the toilet :-) Both are a bit destructive, to be honest...
