Serve your-self
When I arrived to Finland, we were told that Finns are self-serving nation. So it is normal to pick youк dish in a student cafeteria and then bring back dirty dish and pay to the cashier. Great economy in terms of waiters :-)
However, Swedes have left behind Finns in this "self" perceptions. They are not only self-serving nation but also self-cooking and self-warming. I have mentioned already a couple of times student kitchens. Finally I made some pics of the "phenomena":
This is really a big issue here! According to the last year survey the students were unsatisfied with long queuing time to warm their lunch during lunch break. And even after 20-30 minutes of waiting when a desired microwave is reached, further it will be quest "Find a free place at the table" :-) So to increase student satisfaction the university authorities equipped two more kitchens like above... They are so careful! :-) However, I personally would prefer student lunch discounts.
