So my phone completely crapped out on me earlier in the week. I wanted a new one, but was planning on getting one when I had some money put aside for one, not the same month as needing to get glasses. Cingular was going to let me do an exception upgrade since I wasn't eligible for an upgrade till October. I would have to pay the 1 yr contract price but would basically sign a 2 yr contract. So the cheapest I would have had a phone from them was about $70. They told me I could look on e-bay for one, but I needed one right away since it was my only phone. They finally suggested I could get a Cingular GO! phone, one of the prepaid type deals, but as long as I had the SIM card from my old phone, it would still work like a regular one.
So I went across the street to Wal-Mart (yes, Wal-Mart is across the street from the mall in Ames) and told the clerk what was going on. He was trying to sell me on the different prepaid plans! It was soooo hard for me not to talk to him in a condescending tone. Anyway, I ended up getting a phone identical to my old one except its black instead of silverish.
At least I thought they were identical...this one has a racing game on it and different pictures for backgrounds. But the best part? I just talked to Melissa for an hour and 58 min with my battery only a quarter of the way charged and my phone never died.
