If anyone asks, this is
midnightdiddle's fault. She wrote me an abusive!Vaan fic that worked and I wanted to try something equally brain-breaky for her. ♥ And me being me, it's probably going to start out as farce and darken into something actually serious later. Please send help ASAP before much more of this is written! And much love to

So, anyway, seriously comment here. The Capital Letters of Great Importance may become a running joke-- if so, so you fault. ;) And Pauvre Penelo is indeed floundering in the midst of all these devious noble politicans all of a sudden-- one can only hope she can somehow plot right back at some point!
And she will likely not sock Larsa in the mouth since he's but a wee ickle thing at this point-- though she might be tempted to kill him and tell everyone he ran away with a sexy lady sky pirate before too long. He's got absolute cuteness on his side at this point and god only knows that's formidable weapon enough.
Also? The toujurs pur? So your fault. Hee! ::plots and plots and plots::

omg. Penelo! Poor Penelo, and Larsa. He's so well-meaning, but so amazingly clueless and rather stupid, in all his adorable boyishness. But my favorite (like person above) was the Capital Letters of Importance. 'cause Those Always Win Greatly. For Dalmasca.
And Ashe. Ashe. And Basch. Poor Basch. But mostly, Poor Penelo. XD
Srsly, I was laughing so hard. Oh, I love it! *bounces*

And oh, Larsa is totally the clueless and well-meaning love in this piece. I dont' think he's so much stupid as he is very rigid at this point about who he is in relation to Penelo. He's been bought up on fairy tales and on concepts like Chivalry and Knightly Honor and all that other good stuff most people pay lip service to but that he truly believes in... and he just can't understand, as of yet, that Penelo isn't just a fair maiden he rescued who ought to be willing to be his living acessory. She's a real person with her own feelings and desires and he'll be learning that soon enough. ::plots and plots and PLOTS::
And devious!Ashe and long-suffering!Basch shall both make repeat promises, I swear. And thank you once more for inspiring this madness! ♥ ♥ ♥

Mount Bur Sword-in-Face will make me giggle for the rest of the night.
Larsa is something of an early bloomer, isn't he? ^_~
Also, Ashe is a horrible, sneaky woman and I love her more now.

Still not as bad as the time Penelo managed to convinced Vaan that Pharos was really named 'Hey Ho's' and that he'd need to wear assless chaps ala Vagrant Story before they could infiltrate it... ::cough::

Understatement of the century, everyone! XD

I love Ashe from Penelo's perspective. Nobility and dignity are all very well, but tend to get on the nerves of normal people. Especially when they're accompanied by using people as puppets For The Good of the Country without actually telling them what's going on because it is Royal Privilege to do anything one wants with one's subjects.
If this becomes emo, I will eat you, because this fandom needs more humor, dammit! Just so you know. *goes to buy ketchup*

And Ashe! Ashe is... something else when it comes to dealing with the Common People. God bless but I'e always thought she somewhat... lacked a good sense of PR. Or diplomacy. Or... anything else that involves dealing with people and not punching in the face immediately when they anger you.
Here's to hoping she never changes! ::toast:: But here's also hoping she gets a scrappy enough fight from Penelo. When you're the daughter of merchants, you learn to haggle something fierce...

Also, "the village of the terrifying-amazon-bunny-women" had me totally giggling at the end there. Really, the screwball chapter had me giggling, but it was just so...awesome. You rock, love.

And you're totally on-the-mark-- this was definitely a screwball chapter! But of course, stuff's gonna go down soon enough (you played the game, you know what) and... yeah. The humor will defiitely still be there but darker waters churn ahead and all...
