Sure! I'd love to be friends. :) However, I must warn you that I'm not so much into the Harry Potter fandom-- in fact, the only thing I do in that corner of the LJverse nowadays is goggle at Maya's fic. (Mmmm... Mayafic... but I digress yet again.) Hopefully, that'll change with the guaranteed fireworks of the 7th book. (Coming this summer, eeee!) But I am a bit quiet on that font now.
I have a feeling that the flame wars and discussions that erupt from the 7th book will be legendary in the land of fen for years to come. Are you prepared? I'm already getting my hazard suit ready. ;)
I wanked hard and fast in my day but now that I'm older, wiser and in a new fandom, I've totally stopped taking eveyrthing about HP seriously. So I'll definitely be sitting back and chilling once the explosions happen!
Your icon is BRILL, btw! JKR would SO advocate following the "Rules" to get a man, wouldn't she. X_X

It was inspired by a thread I read on LJ. I read a few articles about it and the excerpts said things along the lines of "don't make the first move", "pretend not to be interested in him", or "make his interests your interests". Half the stuff I read applied to Hermione and Ginny in HBP. IIRC, there was also a Rule saying to never ask him out. Keep in mind that Hermione asked Ron to the Slug party and next thing she knew, Ron was sucking on Lavender's tonsils.
Because, of course, Ron needs to "practice" on some poor, unsuspecting girl before he moves on to his twu wuv, of course. And this occurs much the same way Ginny needs to "practice" being desirable with other boys before she can really snag the prophecy-fulfilling, caps-locking, migraine inducing man of her dreams. (Secretly, I think, the Weasleys just might be a clan of insiduous sex fiends!)
Man, JKR likes to run off about wanting girls to be "smart like Hermione" rather than "dumb like Pansy," but she's absolutely wedding to some antideluvian ideas about what it means to be a desirable woman. It's honestly sometimes maddening!
