I originally hadn't planned to put this chapter up this week though it's been done for a while, simply because the Little Women fandom has become a bit depopulated as of late and I thought it would be sad to end my first series for LW while few people are around. But after realizing this fall is going to be a very, very busy one for me-- graduate

I'm actually not a huge fan of Victorian literature because they tend to go off in huge tangents of detail so much. I know it's the era, but sometimes I just don't have the patience to deal with the flowery details, but at the same time, it makes for nice, chunky reading books. HEE.
haha, you deserve all the praise, dear. I love your writing! :)
Jo and Laurie are the cutest, most awkward couple together...some how when I write them, they always end up with dramatic monologues or furiously arguing (with lots of snark, either way). Like you pointed out, my Jo does need some work (she and her potty mouth in the beginning!), but I'm starting to get a better grasp on their charactes.
Still, no one can write Jo/Laurie like you do, and while I'm sad to see this one ending, this means I just get to go focus on more of your wonderful stories! =D

I actually don't mind Victorian literature for the tangents, which can be hilarious. (Like Victor Hugo going off about the grass in Gurnsey Island for a whole chapter after a thrilling cliffhanger in Les Miserables... whaaaaaaat?!) And Louisa May isn't so bad about the tangents, although the morals and the instant way someone gets punished for treading just a little out of line (see: Meg, and Laurie's sexual harassment of her in a ball where she gets dolled up) can get verrrry annoying. Luckily, we certainly don't have to hold to that in fic. XD
The lovely thing about Jo and Laurie is that they're so flexible as a couple! They can be the best of chums but since they both have a temper and (let's face is) Laurie can be kind of a pissy bitch (see: his temper tantrum in Europe after Jo rejected him), there's great room for drama a well. And being characters from Victorian literature, there is ALWAYS room for dramatic monologues, damn it. XD Plus, Jo goes on lots of furious tirades even in the book and movie, so it works! Though the cursing might still have to be toned down a bit...

It's still hilarious either way, you have to admit that totally. ;)

Alcott really isn't too bad about the tangents, I'll give her that. She does really emphasize good morals (reminds me of my mum...sometimes...oy. ;) ) I really dislike Dickens' rambling, but I dont' like Dickens anyway. Not the best thing to feel for my major, either. *headdesk* However, that's why we write fic; so our characters get some action and throw all the flowery prose out the metaphorical window!
Lol, I love the fact that you just called Laurie a pissy bitch. :) Made my day, right there. =)
