Bottom line up front:
-Saw Leehom for the 3rd time today.
-Second time he shook my hand.
-Gave him an early Christmas Card which he took into his hand personally and held onto.
-Third time he's looked at me like.... that (why doesn't he SMILE?!! He smiles at all the other people when he shakes their hands!! Why can't he smile at ME)
-Won an autographed poster from the raffle. One out of 50. Not too bad I must say.
Conclusion:
I'm a lucky mofo and I'm bouncing off the walls. I really hope that out of the TWO cards that were in his hand today (including mine), he'll read mine, lol.
Will update later with pictures. For those of you that have nothing better to do and want all the juicy and/or insignificant details, here's the whole story:
Leehom had a press conference today in San Gabriel. It was mostly reporters/LA press and only people with $178 tickets for Vegas were let in. At first I thought it would be a meet and greet thing with fans, but when I got there, I realized that it was more of a press thing than a fan thing. All the fans were really far away and the people that got close to him were just the press. The security was pretty tight so most people couldn't even get good pictures in.
I was planning on writing him a letter just to drop him my number (lol damn right), but then realized that would be a stupid reason to write him a letter. Plus, letters are lame, I suck at writing letters. So I planned on just going there to see him and to win some posters.
Fortunately, I had the last minute idea of stopping by VONS to pick up a Christmas card. I figured, oh, why the hell not, I had things to say to him, and if I can't tell him that directly, then I'll settle with writing. I found a really simple Christmas card with a snowman on the front that said "Hi!" it was the most neutral, non-fan-girly card, basically said something along the lines of, nice to know (of) you, merry Christmas and a happy new year.
So, hopped on the car, when I got there, took 5 minutes to put my chicken scratch all over it and stuck it in my purse.
Needless to say, when I got there, I was pretty disappointed. I can barely SEE him, let alone give him my card and have him sign things. I looked around and saw that some girls had also made/brought him things, MUCH more elaborate and personal than mine, but they also realized it was probably a lost cause.
Later on, security wasn't that tight and a lot of people rushed to the front. Since I've already met him, I wasn't that gun-ho, so didn't partake in any crazy screaming, pushing and shoving. Then I met a friend's mom, who was there with 'reporter' status, I followed her up to the front and next thing you know, I'm right under the stage where Leehom was sitting.
After the whole thing was over, security started pushing me back behind this 'line' they made; then I realized, Leehom was going to EXIT this way, meaning, he's gonna walk right past me. I took the card out and kind of hesitated. I turned and asked the security person, "think you could give this to him for me?" he responds "haha, it's ok, why don't you give it to him yourself, I won't stop you!"
*SCORE MARIA!*
So Leehom makes his way over, people start screaming and he's trying to shake everyone's hand as he's exiting out. Security person tells me "COME ON, EXTEND THAT ARM, GIVE HIM THE CARD!" lol, what a nice guy. After about 10 seconds, Leehom's RIGHT in front of me.
I yell, LEEHOM!! LEEHOM!! and proceed to POKING him with my card, hahaha, I'm such a jerk. Well, that got his attention coz he was turned the other way. Then he turns around, takes my card and shakes my hand giving it a nice little squeeze as he looks at me... in this WEIRD way and I can't put my finger on what it is.
Like I said above, he's not smiling or anything... he's just kinda looking, it's not a mad stare but it's definitely a lot more... concentrated? Maybe he's thinking that I look familiar, but either way, it kind of makes my heart stop =P I don't know what kind of look it is, but it's kind of nerve-wrecking. Or maybe my face just pisses him off, hopefully it's not that.
At this point, I'm just ecstatic that he took my card. It means HE has possession of it, not like his assistant took it or anything, but he held on to it! THEN, they start announcing raffle winners for signed posters and BAM! They call my number! w00t!!
I'm soooooooooo thankful and feel so damn lucky. Can't wait to see him on the 22nd at Vegas! Go Leehom!
