I finally bought some insulation for the electrical outlets that are located on the exterior walls of of our house. They come in packs of six for a couple of bucks at Lowe's. I have to get out the screwdriver tonight and put them in before we turn on the heat next month. An insulation contractor is coming this weekend to give us a price for beefing up the insulation in our attic. I'm SLOW about making important, energy-saving changes. I also need to add weather stripping to the door to our garage. Hopefully, I will do that tomorrow. My mother, has state of the art insulation and a heat pump and her heating bills are incredibly low. She can keep her house at 70 F in the winter and use very little energy. I hope to have the necessary changes in place to emulate her situation by mid-november. She may want to drill, drill, drill for domestic oil, but, she sure knows how to save a buck.
