I watched much of the Democratic Convention the other night. Michelle Obama is an articulate, intelligent, attractive, well-educated woman. Her speech was fabulous. She will be a great first lady. Ted Kennedy, despite his battle with brain cancer, also spoke movingly. Unfortunately, the word "Chappaquiddick" always comes unbidden into my mind whenever I hear him speak. I wonder what would have happened to my man Obama back then if he had been behind the wheel when Mary Jo drowned. He would probably have served some hard time. He would have served time not only because he is black, but, because he is not a Kennedy.
