So yesterday was supposed to be my bellydance class, but instead it was an hour of being stranded at a gas station who knows where, an hour and a half of getting lost, and then a half hour of going home.
Now how did this happen, you ask?
Well, remember how last week my car quit on me with no warning? Well, it happened again, but worse. Much worse...
The car was doing fine up until I got to the Point of the Mountain - now remember, there is a segment of road that is miles long, with no exit off the freeway... About halfway up the hill, my car turned off. Luckily, it was stop and go traffic, so I flipped on my hazard lights, and restarted the car. I limped it over to the right hand lane, and it happened again. So I just drove really slow for a while with the hazard lights on, until I saw that there was an exit maybe 2 miles ahead. I just crossed my fingers and prayed that I would make it to the exit. I did not want to be stuck on the freeway in the snow - I just wanted to get off! Thankfully, I saw a sign telling me there was a Chevron right on that exit - that made me feel better, because it would give me someplace warm to wait. At this time, I also figured I'd fill my tank back up, since it was close to empty.
I filled up my car, and when I got back in, it wouldn't start. I fiddled with it for about 15 minutes, and it just wouldn't go - so I called Matt, who was home with the kids. So he had his brother in law watch the kids and put them to bed while he came to rescue me. Luckily the people in the Chevron weren't mad that my car was stuck in front of one of their pumps - we didn't want to push it, because there was a down slope between the pumps and the convenience store, and the parking lot was all icy and slick. So I waited for an hour while my husband battled his way up that same slick mountain, to come and get me.
The best thing? As soon as he got into my car, it started up.
Traitor car!
Oh well.
That's when we decided to take Frontage road south to parallel the freeway - he thought maybe my car had overheated, so we'd take surface streets, to avoid the stop and go driving over the mountain pass. Too bad Frontage Road was closed a mile or so south of where we got on it. At that point we promptly got lost for an hour and a half. We finally found a gas station, asked for directions, and made it back to the freeway... In exactly the same place we'd left it! Exit 288. Right where I got off to go to the Chevron.
*headpalm*
So we decided to get Chinese takeout, and went home and watched a movie. After all that, I deserved some grease and eggrolls!
Anyhow, yesterday afternoon I did the red over my highlights, and I love it! Matt said it looks like I dipped my head in KoolAid.
That was still wet - I need to take some photos of it dry.
Also, I was accepted as a blogger for PayPerPost, so I'll be posting additional extra blogs on my blog site (blog.rhondalicious.com) for that - What I need to know is if you guys want me to send those blogs over to LiveJournal, or not. I know that the more people who read my adblogs, the better ratings I get, but I don't think it counts if you read them somewhere else!
