"Where would they have the time to show the development, they were either fighting evil monsters or going to school or anything else that was more important to occupy the screentime, it's not out of the realm of possibly after all those many years in between the timeskip to the epilogue that Sora and Matt got close. The show is called Digimon, it's about Friendship and Monster creatures that fight other monster creatures to save the world...not a shoujo."
This argument caught my attention in particular because it reminds me of some of the pro-Origo arguments stemming from the Bleach fandom. It's stupid to say that the show had no time to develop relationships- it took time to show, for eg. Taiora, Taito, Mijou's budding friendship and this development was well executed.
It seems very odd the ironically the only relationship which they spared no time to develop is the one which ended up as a canon couple.
Not to mention, how does hinting in the show that a certain couple might end up together make the show a shoujou? DBZ and most other major shounens have done so in the past.
If they're going to argue that Sorato wasn't out of the realm of possibility then you could similarly argue that ANY pairing of the Digimon crew was possible. Taito could have got married in Canada at the end of the series. Could it be possible- yes. Does it make any logical sense based on the rest of the series- no way.
No it strikes me very strongly, especially considering how well the other relationships were handled, that Sorato was decided on a whim by some substandard writers.
Exactly...after the timeskip that's a LOT of time to the epilogue, because by then the teens/preteens/kid(cody) were all adults with children...A LOT of things could of happened in that time. Any of the kids could of ended up together, or neither, everyone married other people or didn't get married at all. That's a lot of years, but to use that as an excuse for Sorato???...well...
The problem is...A LOT OF THINGS that COULD of happened in that time is something NEVER seen!
Agreed!! X_X And people on YouTube also tend to put up evidence but it isn't good enough if the developement for the characters isn't up to snuff, as is the case with Sorato, MAR. ow I can't wait more and more to see how you do Part 3 of this!
