I watched three movies this weekend. I watched zero good movies this weekend. You do the math.
Wanted was the best of them. They tossed most of the point of the comic right out the window, made up some crazy shit about weavers and the "loom of fate" and made a standard run-of-the-mill action movie that didn't need the license even a little bit.
Shutter was a complete waste of time. In spite of the fact that they cast the hot chick from Transformers (no, the really hot chick, not Megan Fox) and that she has lots of sex because she's newlywed ('cause you don't really see anything anyway). The story was poorly told and clearly telegraphed. The resolution wasn't exactly what I predicted, but it might as well have been.
GI-Joe... Man, I don't even know where to start. You know what, I'm not even going to try. Here's a couple things, though: This movie was clearly made in a "post-Star-Wars-prequel-trilogy Hollywood" and the fact that that is identifiable is really sad. They made many, many terrible design decisions; Snake-Eyes' mask has lips, for God's sake! This movie promises badass chicks but doesn't deliver if you pay any attention at all.
God, I can't write about it anymore. Enough.
Edit: One more thing I do need to say about GI-Joe: I laughed. A lot. Almost the whole time.
