Hear Ye, Hear Ye Friends, Guests, and all those who might be listening. The Colorado Rogues are asking one and all to attend a most glorious event of a most benificial type. As seen in the Press Release below prepared by the Commodore of the Fleet this is not to promote our selves but instead to fight an enemy most foul and ask for your help. Please contact a member of the Rogues for more information if needed.

On  Leukemia and Lymphoma
The cannons are loaded. Cutlasses are drawn. The ships pull along in preparations to fire a broadside while the boarding parties scramble to take up the grappling hooks. The treasure that is at stake is not one that these pirates are willing to let go down to Davy Jones’ Locker without a fight. This time, these pirates fight for blood.

You may think this is a scene from Disney’s “Pirates of the Caribbean.” In fact, this battle is much closer to home. And is more real.

This is what the scene will be like on October 6, 2007, when the Colorado Rogues plan on attacking leukemia, lymphoma, and other blood disorders, in order to collect the treasure that approximately 50,000 adults and children who are diagnosed with a disorder every year hope for: a cure.

The Colorado Rogues, a pirate reenactment group based in Denver, in association with the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society and Café Netherworld, will be hosting a benefit on October 6, 2007 at Café Netherworld, 1275 Pennsylvania Street. The purpose of the event is to raise money to support the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society is a national voluntary health agency dedicated to curing leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin's disease and myeloma, and to improving the quality of life of patients and their families.

Starting at 4:00 pm, and continuing until 12:00 am, there will be food served, including a 5 course meal showcasing historically accurate foods from the Golden Age of sail; live music by Caustic Soul, Pandora Celtica, and Whirly Jig; door prizes provided by the bands, ArtSmyths, Mandala Jewelry, the Veterans of Foreign Wars, and many others; a silent auction; and, of course, the company of pirates and all of their refinement.

Tickets for the event at $20 per person in advance or $25 at the door the day of and can be purchased at Café Netherworld. All proceeds from the event will go directly to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society and their search to find a cure. For more information on the Society, please visit their website at http://www.leukemia-lymphoma.org or www.lls.org/rm.

So, grab your eye patch, your peg leg, and your parrot, and come on down to Café Netherworld on October 6, 2007 to help the Colorado Rogues plunder the seas for a cure! Yarrrr!
