On facebook, I read a status from a friend. He was talking about taking his daughter in for stitches after a childhood accident, and there were several comments about how childhood seems to be full of stitches, anecdotes about the commentors stitches and when they got their first.
I was going to post a comment, too. This was how it went:
I remember several occasions of childhood accidents that resulted in torn skin, but I didn't get any stitches until the knife wound.
I looked at that and erased it. Talk about a conversation stopper!
Actually, I did get stitches before the knife wound, but those were because of being in surgery, and I wasn't thinking of them. Athough, they did result from something happening to me outside of the hospital. More about these injuries in another post.
A friend also posted as her status a link,
http://www.vidtown.com/https://www.facebook.com/dannybatymusic which had me commenting that I couldn't quite like the quote, as things were not so cut and dried in my childhood.
These two incidents were the final touches in convincing me to do some sort of blog. I hope that it will be okay to do it here.
