Jamie, Cecily and I sat on the sidewalk across the street from White Electric and played a pretty solid game of Rummy. We were under a nice big maple and lots of people walked by us and Cecily said hello to all of them and almost no one said hi back. On the same day Domenick and I went in the mall and it was as panic inducing as ever. I bought the first cd I've bought in a long time.
I pedicabed through two hours of Waterfire before managing to pull my front hub right out of the dropouts. I lost a lot of potential money but I also learned a bit about trike drivetrains and the limitations of a rickshaw (for instance, one should not ride a pedicab with two people in it up College Hill.) Some wrenches and some very patient coworkers came to the rescue and I was able to get my steed safely back in the stable. The remainder of the evening was spent sitting on the cool tile outside of As220, drinking cold ginger drops and warm Narragansetts. I laughed to hard and broke a glass. People say that I cackle and I guess that it is true.
Hannah and I "raced" in an alleykat on Sunday on the HUB tandem. I spent most of the ride sitting up and making a neat wind tent with my Marilyn Monroe dress. We rode with a nice girl named Kate who had a tape player strapped to her back. We sang along to a tape entitled "cruiser classics" and it felt a little like being in this movie.
Today was spent in and out of U-Haul van, beeping at anyone I we might know and dropping matresses down the stairs. Hannah is letting me borrow some of her furniture until she ends up somewhere permanant, which means there is a hair dryer chair in the living room and chaise lounge in my bedroom. Sweet.
