in other news, i read vox nova because sometimes it's interesting (like recent posts on the danger of conflating religion & patriotism) and because sometimes it pisses me off, which is fun. i'm not gonna lie.

the thing is? it -is- totally different when it's my kid. THAT'S WHY I DO NOT WANT. other people's kids? fanTAStic. mine? not so much.

childfree gets a little excessive for me, though, because i do like children.

i like children too. (gosh that sounds like a comment that could get my journal red flagged). I'm an especially big fan of my little nephew (see icon) and my entering-the-world-at-any-moment-now new niece or nephew.

i'm just a sucker for validation that I am not alone in not wanting children of my own.

Also infuriating? The idea that not wanting kids makes a person [especially if that person is a woman] somehow mean or heartless.

Or the idea that your life is INCOMPLETE if you don't have any. Especially if you're a woman.
