well... the chiropractor was very helpful. i have lots and lots and lots of problems in my neck that are caused by a skeletal birth defect that also causes my joint problems, my small facial features and my hips to turn in.
There is nothing to do to fix this. I have to go see a neurologist to make sure it doesn't cause an aneurysm. The x-rays were SO obvious and shocking that I'm really surprised that my past 2 MRIs and CT scans didn't pick all this up.
So... thanks Cherie. There's nothing like finding out about a birth defect at the age of 22 when i can't remember a time during which my neck DIDN'T hurt. Even my mom told the doctor that she thought I was making it up and complaining for nothing until she saw the x-rays and saw that I have a chunk of bone missing from my spine and my first 2 vertebrae are fused together.
Call me if you wanna hear exactly what's wrong. I don't know what they call some of the stuff, but a lot of it is called occult spinal dysraphism caused by spina bifida occulta. And that's only half of it.
I'm going back to the guy to do some therapy that will make it FEEL better, but i will never be without this problem. Ever. It could even kill me with an aneurysm. neat.
