litany of woe (part 2)

So yesterday and today have been a flurry of medical stuff.

Good news:
  1. My labs came back and I'm not infected with a superbug! \o/
  2. The antibiotics are working really well, even if I'm having to eat very carefully on them.
  3. I got to see the surgeon yesterday and we're scheduled for the 11th (as the 4th is a holiday).
Other news:
  1. The default deposit for any surgery here is $2,000 *but!* if I put a deposit in, it'll knock 60% off the cost of the surgery, so I've spent today getting the money together (and then watching the Belgium vs USA game to take my mind off it).
  2. It was $200 and a bit to see the surgeon for the prelim (I don't have the exact number yet, since my mom took my receipt for the $100 I already paid).
  3. The surgeon was worried enough about the amount of pain that he wants me to go completely under. :S So... here's hoping I'll wake up afterwards?
*sigh* I know it needs to be done, it's been infected for ages. I've spent a lot of time being sick, as you all know, and this is my chance to be able to stop being so ill and be able to sit and walk and just do things again, but I am so nervous. I mean, none of the doctors are nervous about the surgery itself, both my dermatologist and the surgeon are worried about the infection, but still. *rubs at face*

...I could use some hugs, please.

nervy enough to be sick to my stomach, invisible mississippi, update
