I didn't look the least bit "ethnic" until I dyed my hair black and got some color in my skin.

And by "ethnic", I just mean Medterranian/European.

Apparently, I went from pseudo-jew to "OHMIGOD EUROPE!!" thanks to a few hours in the sun and a box of Feria.

I realized how true this is today, when two separate old women, on two separate busses both inquired as to if I was Italian. Which I'm not. It was just a weird thing to be asked.

Today, I went to Manhattan with Ashley. We took the D train from by her house and proceeded to get off at the wrong stop because the conductor mumbled and I thought she said there was a problem at Broadway and Lafayette [our stop]. We got off at Grand Street, smack in the middle of Chinatown. We then spent an hour trying to figure out where the hell we were and how to get to Broadway/Lafayette so we could actually go to SoHo. Eventually, we just got on another train for one stop and got off in SoHo.

While we were walking, we saw Carson from Queer Eye. Ashley was tempted to run after him yelling "I LOVE YOUR WORK." But we refrained.

We headed to Starbucks to recharge and met Zach, the gay rights/gender equality crusader. He was awesome. He liked the way my name was spelled and apparently, he was president of the Ridgewood HS speech and debate team. It was a brief interlude, but awesome nonetheless. Ashley gave him $10 for his persuasive pitch and we got our coffee and then descended upon the merchandise of SoHo ravenously.

Not really. We browsed. Alot. The stores there are wicked nice and I almost bought a $60 Hurley overnight bag since my duffle is massive and I need a carryon. But I didn't. The jewelry stores were awesome. I'm going back after I get a paycheck to get some nice stuff.

I got a really nice necklace from Laila Rowe, this awesome store just north of Houston St. It's sturdy and only cost $10. Stoked? Yes.

And then we went home.

This entry was disjointed.
