I sent out my first resume and portfolio today. I know i won't get the job but atleast this way i feel a bit more productive. It's in Irvine, CA which is not my ideal place to live but i'd deal. It's with the Burton owned company
The Program, which is 3 companies in one...or something, i'm not really sure how it all works. The position is for "Production Artist/Jr. Graphic Designer - Hardgoods"
The Production Artist - Hardgoods is responsible for working with theHardgoods Creative Manager, Product Managers and other GraphicDesigners to assist in the design and file preparation of graphics for Forum Hardgoods (boards, boots, and bindings) and Softgoods.
Some responsibilities include:
-Responsible for preparation of digital mechanicals for hardgoods and softgoods.
-Responsible for doing research to contribute to the program brands’ overall look and feel.
-Responsible for doing work with our end customer and project scope in mind.
-Responsible to show progress to the Creative Teams when appropriate.
-Responsible to present his/her work internally.
-Responsible to manage his/her own time to get work done on time and correctly.
-Responsible to get approvals before files are prepared for mechanicals.
Veryyy interesting, and totally something i'd love to do. Too bad theres probably about 1000 other people applying. I won't get my hopes up, but its an interesting and sort of exciting thing.
