I really wish there was another day in the week. Or that the weeks would stop going by so damn fast. I don't have time for anything anymore, its insanity. I never even found time to ask for halloween weekend off so the night we're all going out i have to work til 6 AND i work at 9:30 the next morning. How awesome is that? I'm gonna ask one guy if he'll switch with me since he doesn't have to come in until 12:30. We'll see. I still fully intend on going out that night. Regardless of what my costume is gonna be. I still want to be Robin Gibb even if Holly won't be there to be Barry Gibb, i just need to find time to go look for a fuckin polyester suit. Whens that gonna happen? In all my spare time? If i can't get that one together i'm planning on being Pam from The Office as a cat. If you saw the halloween episode from last year she basically wore a black turtleneck, black skirt, cat ears and painted her nose black and added whiskers. So i plan on frizzing my hair out like pam and it'll be cute and easy. I'm shamelessly stealing Erins costume from last year. If only i had a Jim to dress up as a 3 hole punch version of themselves.
I've also been trying my very best to use all my networking skillz to land me a job. I made that surfer magazine spread and decided that i'd ask these guys that host a radio show out of San Francisco, one of them is a pro surfer, and they're always interviewing skateboarders, snowboarders, surfers etc etc. I figure out of everyone that i know, those guys know surfing. I don't pretend to know a single thing about it. So i messaged them on myspace ( i had talked to them before when i suggested they interview Tristan Prettyman because shes pretty much their dream girl from everything they ever say about girls and literally within 3 days of me suggesting her they announced that they were having her on the show and they loooved her, it was really entertaining. I'm not even that big a tristan fan but she was great in the interview.) anyway so i messaged them and the one dude, Cyrus replied saying that he loved the spread and that he could definitely see it in a surf magazine. he also said that if i wanted to break out into that surf/snow/skate industry that graphic design is definitely the way to do it because all those companies are always looking for designers. He suggested this one site that's essentially monster.com for action sports related companies. and that was great because i'd never heard of it. then he asked if i would redesign their header on their website. And i gladly agreed because these are the little baby steps i can do to get my shit out there. plus its another line to add to my resume.
I've also been working on my personal logo that'll go on my business cards, resume, portfolio and will represent me and my work. I love playing with type, i love fonts, i love color, i love simple design and so this is what i came up with:
