Extreme knitting

I had the following conversation with a co-worker, which made me think about extreme knitting...

(09:52:53 AM) $coworker: You should knit a full body copy of your self, it could be a stand in for when you are out of the office.
(09:53:07 AM) me: nah, that's skippyclese.
(09:53:26 AM) $coworker: haha
(09:53:35 AM) me: he's my mirror.
(09:53:46 AM) me: He calls himself a failover
(09:53:59 AM) me: and I actually got to take a real day off last week with NO GUILT.
(09:54:01 AM) $coworker: when I walk in there and I see you guys connect via USB cable or ethernet, I will pee myself and run screaming. Or ask for my own cable.
(09:54:24 AM) me: someone asked us if we were on different UPSs
(09:54:31 AM) me: although we are on the same subnet.
(09:55:15 AM) $coworker: A truly redundant system is pretty hard.
(09:55:25 AM) me: yep
(09:59:34 AM) $coworker: I say you take your knitting to the next level, maybe quantum knitting, get that knitted VM capacity up and make VMs of you and skippyclese. Might require a sync every so often to keep you up on what is going on, but I think it could work. Might want to label them so that you know which of you are VMs and which are not. Both of you would get days off then, maybe at the same time. I think $boss already has this working, he uses his camera foo to achieve this. Each person has to do it their own way. Feel the knitting around you.
