Conversations with a 4-year-old, part 7,582

Dec 22, 2007 11:33

Mom: Nate, do you want to come shopping for xmas presents with me? We need to get something for your dad and for your uncles.
Nate: Sure!
Mom: What would you like to get for them?
Nate: Bulldozers!
Mom: Little bulldozers, or ones as big as our car?
Nate: One as big as our car!!
Mom: I don't think we can afford a bulldozer.
Nate: Oh. Then can we get them littler bulldozers?
Mom: How about books? They like books.
Nate: Books about bulldozers?

(ok, I made up the last line in the context of this conversation. But he did ask if we could get his dad an alphabet-and-spelling book for xmas, since he was having fun with it so obviously his dad would too.)
