My Leo kitty finally lost his battle with whatever it was and passed over yesterday. We buried him in the backyard, where, when there is such, the sun will shine on him. He loved sunshine:) Sad? Yes, of course. He was part of my life for a number of years. But honesty compells me to say that he wasn't one of my favorite cats, and he won't be able to pester Atticus any more, either. Still, he was a nice guy.
The funny happened this morning! My alarm went off at 4, as always, and as always, I reset it for 5, which lets me get up at 5:30. That's the routine...that's how I like it. So, I reset the alarm at 4, rolled over and slept beautifully, until I woke with a start and looked at my watch. Ack! 6 am. Ohhhhhshite. So I fly out of bed, get dressed, scoot out to the kitchen, make a fresh pot of coffee, get my lunch together, and even get the dishes done, thinking I'll just have enough time to check my email, put on my shoes and head out the door.
So, then, imagine my total surprise when I looked at the clock on the computer..and it says..5:05 am!! *blink* Oh. My. Which is why I actually have time to post this this morning!
The rest of it? Eh, not much, really. There are some positive things on the near horizion having to do with work, but nothing I can say right now. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that the State doesn't raise community college fees yet again, as it's difficult enough right now to keep Donovan in school. He is going to be looking for a job this summer, and if he's fortunate enough to get one, that will help. We'll see. My friend Kathleen's having her husband Gary's memorial service on Sat, and I'll have to go to that. There will be laughter and tears, as is usual at such things, and I feel I need to be there for her.
So all in all, it's a mixed bag..as usual.
