I've been doing a lot of thinking about what I want to do after I graduate. Because honestly, there's nothing I can do to get a job in my field with my degree - religious studies. As much as I enjoy it and it makes me happy, being a scholar, I wouldn't be able to get a job until I got my PhD and the competitions incredibly fierce even with the PhD

Oh, I understand the job-thing! I don't have any degree, but I've certainly got occupational issues. I've done miscellaneous jobs over the years. Office work, outside work, factory work. Currently, I'm in the manufacturing sector. It's not bad money when things are going, but I am sick to death of the layoffs and downsizing everytime the economic wind blows 2mph. I need to get out of manufacturing - badly.
There is a wonderful chef school right here in Michigan, and pretty cheap too. Schoolcraft college in Livonia has one of the best food programs in the country from what I understand, and I think 5 of about 50 Master Chefs in the country. At least that's what they told me a few years ago when I was looking at Schoolcraft. Sorry I don't have a website handy for you, but if you think you're interested I could spend some time looking them up for you.
