My dinner was illegal...

I have said I will at least try a bite of whatever foods are served as I am traveling. Thats the fun of travelling, right? So, I had whale for dinner yesterday. Whaling is legal here but highly controlled and regulated so as not to deplete the whale population.
It was surprisingly good, not what I had expected at all. It's not fishy, more like red meat and we ate it like steak. I am told the blubber is fishy not in a good way and not good to eat, but once you get past that the meat itself is very lean and very high in protein.
It was a traditional dish thats served over mashed potatos, the whale meat steakes cut into strips about 2 inches wide, 1 inch thick, 5 or 6 long, with slices of red pepper, onions, garlic, cayenne pepper and paprika. It was very yummy and the boys even liked it.
I have sampled some really good desserts over here too. Chocolate is way better here than in the States! =D
