May I be the first...

I hope, to wish you a very happy St. Cyril and Methodius Day.  Yup.  St. Valentine was just a legend, folks, and in the 1960s amidst all the other reforms the Catholic church officially ruled this.  If you don't know, the saints we ARE recognizing today carried the gospel to Russia and invented the Cyrillic alphabet.

Suggestions for celebrating the day:
1.  Make your students read "He Wishes his Beloved were Dead" By William Butler Yeats
2.  Write funny
3.  Invent your own alphabet
4.  Go somewhere with horrendous weather and convince the primitive inhabitants they should worship your god, whoever that may be.
5.  Wow your friends with your brilliant imitation of the Great Sashenka
6. Bake brownies (hey, I may be cynical about romance, but chocolate is chocolate)
