Mike is heading over to help with sandbagging. I'm a bit worried because he said his arthritis is acting up. On the other hand, he said he really feels like he should be helping out since he hasn't been able to before. (We're not sure what happened, but it sounds like there may be a leak near our neighborhood, so he let me know he was heading over there.)

I guess I know how he feels. I wish I could do something, too. I guess I'll have to content myself with keeping the rest of the family out of harm's way.

I'm also happy to report that a grad student in my dept. informed me of a site to find daycare, so I managed to get that lined up for next week. That was the thing that stressed me out the most...especially since we don't know how long things may last. The down side is that it's expensive...but at least it's very close to the older one's school, which will make things very convenient.

In reading the news, I've been watching how Moorhead seems to be getting hammered. Does anyone there know what happened? Mike said it may be because it was hard for Fargo people to get across, so maybe they didn't have enough volunteers. Are they lower, too? It's horrible because it sounds like nearly half the city has evacuated now, and I'm not sure they're getting the support that the Fargo side has.

flood, fargo
