The writing on the toys

Mar 09, 2009 00:16

The younger son is coming along in his reading, but there are still a lot of things he can't read...especially when they are in 2-point font on the bottom of his toys.

Earlier this week, he got a plastic ring from a friend at school. It featured some sort of hero (perhaps a Power Ranger?), and he kept asking the name of the person. I said I didn't know, but he said it was printed on the back side of the ring. I looked and said, "All it says is that it was made in China."

This morning, he asked me about what was written on some other toy. I read a few things about copyrights, and then said that it was made in China.

His response was a very exasperated, "That's made in China, TOO?!"

"Yes, dear," I said. "Almost everything is nowadays."

I'm not sure why it bugged him so much. I'm not even sure he knows where China is.
