I hate to be one of those people who speculate the second a celebrity dies, but here I am and not only am I doing it, I'm posting about it.

Bryttany Murphy, dead at 32, and what was my first thought? Oh no, she's so clearly a woman with an eating disorder history and I hope that's not what killed her. And then I find out she died from cardiac

Such a tragedy: a beautiful young woman, very talented, with so much to offer.

ITA on the eating disorder. One of the things that really fries my motherboard is reading people's criticisms of young actresses/performers that are weight-related. So much pressure.

Lately, I've been reading a lot of critical posts about Emily Deschanel's weight. ED wears a size 8, unlike the size 0-2 the other actresses on her show, Bones. As a result, some of the viewers that post on the show's official forum carp about her "looking pregnant". I keep saying that's not how pregnancy looks; it's how NORMAL looks when compared to undersized.

I know! According to The Spouse, she has "the best rack on TV", and he positively smiles with glee whenever "the girls" peek out. :-)

That ED example is just the perfect illustration of how we have been brainwashed and actively work to brainwash everyone around us about women and weight. It's crazy that anyone would think a size 8 woman looks "pregnant" which is a code word for fat of course (don't get me started on people calling themselves and other people carrying another human in their stomach "fat").

IKR? It's so frustrating, sometimes, reading what's posted on the official forum. I suspect those posters must think I'm either ED or her mother, the way I rail at them for calling her fat!!
