I expected that this would be a lonely job. A friend and a dog - I told myself it would be enough… given the stars. I never imagined that I’d find a lover, a partner, someone who filled all the empty places.
Now, in the Expanse, I need him more than ever… my compass, my conscience. But I fear I’m losing that forever. I’ve strayed too far from who I was, walked too far down this dark road.
I barely recognize myself in what I’ve become… why should he?
But somehow he does.
“Come to bed, Jon… you’re not alone here.”
