I spent all of Thursday with my brother. Just me and him. Now that was an experience.
We went out in service for the morning. Now, my parents aren't exactly regular in the ministry, so its been a while since Curtis has been out in service. I wasn't sure how he'd be, but it was okay. I didn't make him give any presentations or anything. And we were doing infrequently worked ruarl territory, so we could leave magazines at the doors. He liked that, cause he got to be helpful. I asked how long the road was we were working, and one sister said "I guess it keeps going until we drive off the edge of the earth" and my brother replied "thats physically impossible." I want to know where he picked that line up.
Once we were done with service, I went to wal-mart to get the oil changed in my car. It needed it bad. So we got to spend all that quality time in the car driving, and then the hour or so we browsed wal-mart waiting for the car to be done. I did end up buying him some stuff, but I figured he had done good for the day. And he actually put back a pair of swimming goggles for clothes. I almost fell over. Thankfully, little boys cotton shorts and sleeveless shirts are pretty cheap.
In the car I lost count of how many times we listened to "Bicycle Race" by Queen. I let him and Rita listen to it once cause I thought they'd like it. Well he said it was okay the first time, but he decided he loves it now. But, for the ride home I played lighter stuff, and he fell asleep. Then we came home and goofed around. I fed him dinner, and made him get dressed for the meeting, even though mom and dad weren't home yet. They both got home as we were in the car, getting ready to pull out of the driveway. I could tell he wanted to stay, but no one offered him that option (well, dad sort of did with hand signals, but I said no). So we only stayed for half the meeting cause I felt bad he hadn't seen mom or dad all day. And even though he complained a little bit, overall he was pretty cooperative.
Today I was going to take him to work, but he begged to go to Kirk's house instead. I figured since he went everywhere with me yesterday, I could show mercy to him (and me really) and let him go. Then when I picked him up, Kirk came back here, so they were out of my hair.
Tomorrow I'm off. I am going out in service, and trying to ignore the bad work schedule that I got for next month. Well, I'm only going to ignore it for a little while, I know something will need to be done. But I'll think about that another day. Because tomorrow is another day! < /gone with the wind moment >
Also, Star Wars III is at the drive in. I am so going tomorrow, because its supposed to be clear. I don't really want to see the movie. I'm just looking for excuses to wear my robe. ;)
