WOW! I'm really surprised too. I have contradicting feelings about that. It's really nice to know more about Matthew but it disappoints me a little that he follows the celebrity "narcisistic" exposition in social media. Don't know how to explain it. :( Well, at least I don't have to worry about Luke joining the social media trend. But who knows :) I hope not tough. It would be really weird.
Anyway, nice to see what picture Matthew has choosen and who is he following in twitter. It says a lot about his personality and can't wait to know about what he tweets :)
Maybe it's a way to promote the Americans, like Dave is doing with his show? Or maybe Dave just got tired of Matthew-fans invading his twitter-account and Matthew couldn't take his suffering anymore? :)
I don't know about this. I have mixed feelings about this. A part of me is thrilled, because it's Matthew, but at the same time... I just don't see him as a person who'd be interested in keeping everyone uptodate on his whereabouts and opinions, so maybe it will 'disappear' after a few tweets, because... well... he has a life and he's too busy for Twitter. :)
Yes, that's exactly what I feel too. But for what he said in his second tweet and for the number of tweets I think we don't have to worry too much. I suppose he will use it to promote The Americans or say some general things, but I don't see Matthew promoting himself, posting pics of himself or sharing personal things. or I hope so :)
When I read a pretty good news, I thought someone was getting married! For most people that's THE good news!
Never thought that opening a twitter account counted as that. I understand, though. Been there! I really like Twitter because unlike Facebook, I can read what people say without getting an account.
On one hand, it's nice to interact with people whose work you enjoy, and say so, but on the other hand, if that person doesn't fit the image you had of them, it can bring sadness or disappointment. It can change the idea you had of someone before in a bad way. I doubt it'll happen with MR, though.
Also, thanks for the Scapegoat link. I will watch it whenever I have two hours. Loved the atmosphere from the glimpse I got. :)
It was actually because he tweeted that MATTHEW opened a twitter-account (something he said he wasn't interested in doing, even though Dave has been bugging him over this for quite a while). :)
So, for me and many others it is good news and very re interesting. :)
I just have mixed feelings about it. Silly as I am a part of me is going all fan-crazy that I could send my favorite actor an email and he might actually read it (if he would bother...) but a part of me also liked that inability to do it. I guess a part of me is still stuck in the 80s, when celebrities could only be found in magazines and were not a just a tweet away... Sigh.... :)
I like that he is on twitter that way you can get info e.c.t ..I think it a good way for celebs and others to interact with fans... I enjoy that Dave & Odette Annable post little bits of info and sometimes posts pics e.c.t .. It not in depth information but just little things like cute pics of dogs ( which I'm huge animal love and love)
though wish he would post more often with pics...:) lol but just happy now that he on..
I agree that it CAN be interesting, but like you said, he doesn't tweet THAT often. I don't want to think bad about Matthew, but it feels a bit more like a 'commercial' decision (because of "The Americans") than something he personally interested in doing.
But I could be wrong. I wouldn't mind if I was wrong. :)
