The trip has been pretty interesting so far. There was some protesting by Nick and Theresa when I wanted to spend my entire time in France in the Louvre, they actually made me leave and dragged me almost physically to some shops and a restaurant, but I think when all I did was sketch on the napkins they gave in. Besides this way they get to spend ( Read more... )

*sits next to to the spring, brushing the top of the water lightly with her hand*

*gazes at her reflection that moves along with the movement of her hand, speaks out loud, not realizing anyone is around*

How is it that my life doesn't feel so complicated when I sit here?

*has to take a minute to decide to answer*

Maybe because it's a fairy spring?

*jumps to her feet at the answer, spins around fists clenched ready to fight off an attack if need be*

What the hell?

*replays what he said*

No accent. You're a tourist. *tilts her head, fists still clenched* Fairy spring?

*holds up both of his hands and steps back a little*

Sorry, didn't mean to startle you.

*Nods towards the spring*

It comes straight from the earth but it's warm, not cold. And the Tuatha de Danan were supposed to be around here. Which are sort of fairies but its kind of an over simplified name.

*unclenches her fists, relaxing as she decides he is being straight with her*

Sorry. Natural reaction. I didn't realize anyone else was around. I've been left alone here most nights. The sunset is breathtaking.

*arches an eyebrow at the explanation* You sound like you know a lot about this place for a tourist. The water is the perfect temperature actually.

*gives her a look*

The perfect temperature?

*looks around with a smile*

I was here before a long time ago, it's almost exactly like I remember it. Sorry about intruding on your alone time.

Yeah. I usually swim once the sun sets. Mind you, I'm not used to having company...but I guess it's not such a bad thing.

*smiles*

A long time ago? Like when you were a kid or are you revisiting a past life, King Arthur?

*pauses, tilting her head to look him over*

No. No, I don't think you're Arthur. Maybe one of the round table knights. Lancelot?

It would be a good place to swim.

*looks startled*

Yeah, Lancelot.

*not sure why he said it*

It is. It's soothing and brings this sense of zen to me. It's hard to explain.

*nods her head*

Pleased to meet you, Lancelot. I'm not Guin, sorry to disappoint.

If you look at it right sometimes you can see the Lady.

*smiles*

That's ok, I know Guin, she's very attached to my brother Arthur and we never did what they say in the stories thanks.

The lady of the lake?

*practically bounces on the balls of her feet*

I've read about her!

*snickers*

If you say so, Lance.

Yeah, Ninian the Lady of the Lake. Of course you should be able to see her in any calm water, but places like this it's easier.

*looks serious*

She's the girlfriend of my brother, I won't betray that.
