Void Piggy

I had an up and down event at Endgame. However the down aspects were mostly OOG issues. IG I had a very enjoyable time with various modules, plot developments, new players, etc. Even the various bits of drama weren't that bad. However I have to say that per usual I BURN through my void like nobody's business. 4 out of 5 resets were used on Friday night. One was used on the initial fight (I have a bad habit of doing that honestly), two in a hair-raising oh my god everyone's going to die if I don't burn another void damnation my right arm is maimed can't use packets well holy crap scenario courtesy of alberteqx (New skill Mind Shock for the SAVE), and the last one at a semi-unsatisfying retreat scenario. More void was blown on Saturday though I was pretty good about not using attributes during the day. Even with no attributes I can still just be a guy with a stick and infinite touch stabilize.

Of course there were other opportunities to gain extra void (like 3), plus resolve, but those were DESPERATELY needed especially on the Sunday Malish (kind of like Shetra/Blood Zombies though disease based) fight. I seriously thought we as PCs were done as it seemed like at one point they had 30 NPCs plus 30-40 players on their side...but somehow we pulled through?

There were also a ton of injuries at the game, though the staff were very responsive and professional. I helped carry the guy who tore his ligament to the car so he could be driven to the hospital. Hopefully everything will work out and all the walking wounded will make it to the next session.

I was debating whether or not I could make it to the next Endgame session, as this year is going to be very stressful with all the curriculum changes. Plus I wasn't feeling so much floon as of late for Endgame and LARPing in general, but I don't think I could bear to miss the game unless I really had to for work. I think the most interesting aspects of this last session were all the social/political maneuvers in a post apocalyptic setting that is heavily influenced by American culture (plus the fact that it's a boffer LARP). The emotions/RP actions that shake out as a result are quite compelling. Also it's fun to LARP with people I don't see at any other game. Thanks to everyone who came out to NPC!

It was nice to crash at conspiratrix and jameyhasnolj's place. Wizwar and Betrayal on House on the Hill rock per usual! Plus there was a fine birthday celebration and lots of people to see. The drive home wasn't great, but at least bitsyboo was there when I got home. See some of you next weekend!...and the weekend after that...and...yeah. The season BEGINS.

EDIT-Oh yeah I forgot to mention about the ride up. Amazingly I only got lost...three times! It was only for 20 minutes tops though. I made it in really good time because I left insanely early. Hopefully if I do the drive again solo I won't get lost again...though I'm kind of leery of driving there in the dark.

Be well.
