face to face cause they know they'll never dance alone
I went to day camp with Alex today. It was art day and she wanted me to come and have some fun with her. I think it was possibly the biggest thing I have ever been asked, well aside from will you marry me, but yes, we went and I helped about a half million (they were loud enough to be at least that many) kids paint. The teacher there was fun, she is very young and good with the kids, but I think she was happy to have someone help them with the painting. Everyone painted their family. Me and Alex traded ours and they had the exact same people in them for once. I have hers in a frame to go in my studio, though on second thought I might keep this one at home. She asked for hers in a frame too like the ones I have so I will do that for her too. I did mine in the same style as theirs, only with some more detail, like faces. By the end of the day we were crazy messy and hot and tired, and we went for ice cream and brought it home. Fernando got there with Teo about the same time and we shared some with Heidi before me and him headed home to our house.
I had to pretty much take my clothes off as soon as we got out of the truck and clean up, wow, I didn't quite realize how messy I was. Lucky for me someone thinks that is very hot and he had an awful lot of fun finding every single fleck of paint, no matter how hidden or how stubborn it was being. By the time I was clean I was pretty much his for the taking, and he is never one to pass up an opportunity. Oh who am I kidding I am his for the taking every second of the day.
I think if I wanted to sum this up, it would be to say life is amazing, more amazing than I ever thought that it would or even could be and yesterday was in particular even more amazing. I'm a lucky guy. I say that a lot but I mean it with every bit of me every single time. Tomorrow we're going to some lake to just relax and have some fun, maybe fish, but I bet we will manage not to get to the fishing at all. I know us well enough for that by now. It will be another amazing day.
