On May 8, 2008, I predicted that Clinton would gracefully bow out of the primary, facing the irrefutable knowledge that she could not win the election. I said she would do it within 48 hours of my prediction. And now, a mere 28 days later, she has done exactly that. Sort of.

She's announcing that she will announce her support for Obama. Which is KIND of like quitting the race. Whatever. I knew that she would do the right thing eventually. I mean it's not like her supporters would go around screaming about how they were not going to vote for "an ineffectual black man." Certainly no one could be that, um, you know . . .

Or maybe it's just Harriet Christian? Yeah, maybe it's just her. And a few readers on Salon.com. (http://letters.salon.com/9d0b99408f658a6edc79091b7b4cb14e/author/index18.html) And a large portion of South Dakota.

Don't get me wrong. I'm not saying Obama can't win this thing. It's just very informative about what the American public really is. Even in the face of overwhelming incompetence on the part of the Repbulican Party, some voters would still rather sit this one out.
