Let the record show that the victory was not so much in my I.T. skills, which are sort of meager and meandering and more like a testimony to patience and trial/error.
No, the real accomplishment was that my coworker did not kick me off the computer after 5 minutes. He let me do my thing and it worked. Most men will not let their female coworkers futz around on their computers. They'd rather spend two hours confused and frustrated than let me touch their machines. So this is partially a victory over gender stereotypes and over my own difficulties in getting coworkers to trust to handle issues of importance. Not the printers are super important, but that's exactly at the level from which I am rising.
