ACW show last night, other stuff
So we headed out to the ACW show in Port Richey, Florida
We actually just went out there to support friends, as for the most part, the whole show was lined up with people we are tight with, a few who we consider family (George Martel and Eddie Taurus to name but 2), something only a few people we feel that way about.... ya all know who you are
Now... before I go into this, as a indy worker, one of the things I HATE is going to show and not working it especially if the opportunity is there, it drives both Ferrari and myself nuts, so in saying that, we brought our gear... Thanks Ian LOL
The guy who initial trained me ingrained that in my head... always, ALWAYS bring your gear, even if you dont plan on working... needless to say, last night, I did not plan on working
So we walk into the back to say high to everyone... and the wierdest fucking thing happened man
For the first time down here, everyone in the locker room was genuinely happy to see us there, and we were greeted by everyone with open arms... it actually felt like we were working a show back up north again
Honestly, the decision to work was both of ours, and getting caught up in the moment and how we were treated was a big part of it
I realize for those who are not down here, alot of this may not make any sense... believe me, politically, us working the show was not going to make some people happy, but we had to do what is right for both of us
I wont get involved in the bullshit, because honestly, there isn't enough fucking money in it anymore
We both just wanted 2 simple things, to work together again and to have fun again, which, we did tonight
I refuse to get involved with political bullshit anymore, I learned my lesson the hardway years ago with ESW and OSPW
I was put in the hardcore street fight match with Ralph Mosca, James Morrison, Vindetta, and Eric Cooper
One of the things Ferrari want to do is go back to where we started... go back to "The Suicide Messiah" Marc Mandrake and Ferrari... in your mother fucking face... brutal... hardcore mother fuckers... basically be who we ARE
Since we moved down here, one of the things that has made us not enjoy wrestling as much, is because we both felt like we were restricted, or handcuffed so to speak
Some of that... ya know, when your working a church show, of course... we have no other choice BUT to tone down
But for everything else... I needed a change... I wanted to quit all together, truth be told
Anyways... to make a long story short, one of the big reasons we are going to work ACW, is we get to work together again, which is something we both feel very strongly about... and we dont have to hold back... I can go back to being me again, because I really missed being the gimmick that brought me success up north
So we get ready for the match... and we came out... got actually a great response... I was really impressed
So I probably have to explain the gimmick a little bit for those up north LOL
If you remember "The Suicide Messiah" gimmick... just like that, but with a little bit of the Bruiser Brody craziness and Sinn strangeness
My part in the match was short, which is what I wanted anyway... Ferrari was holding up Vindetta, I swung but Vindetta moved, Ferrari got the barbed wire 2x4 in the stomach, I turned around, and got a double suplex onto a can from Vindetta and Morrison, and both Vindetta and Morrison pinned me
I then went out, and dragged Ferrari by the hair, letting her know how pissed off I was that she cost me the match
The cool thing, or maybe not so cool, is the fans
loved it so much that they STILL wouldnt boo us LOL
After the show, I was walking to the truck, and a group of fans came up, and ya know, after being told they thought all I did was manage LOL .... they genuinely were happy Ferrari and I were at the show
They then wanted me to bark LOL ... but they were happy we were there, which made both of us feel really good
All in all, I am glad we worked the show... the fans were awesome, it was an awesome show... no regrets
I honestly think the only place I will do the full blown Mad Man gimmick is for WXW
I have fine tuned "The Suicide Messiah" gimmick to the point where I am comfortable with it, enjoy doing it
On a side note... changed my look up a bit... cut my hair... photo's to come soon
On a secondary sidenote... 2 years ago, tonight... In Cambridge, Ontario... Warhed and myself had what I consider one of my favorite matches ever
Call me sick, call me twisted, call me crazy, but I loved taking a swanton onto my bare chest, while a chair wrapped in barbed wire was laying on my chest
Still have some scars from that match LOL
And the best part... wouldn't have changed it for anything!
It was also 2 yrs ago, where I came home from the show, to find Ferrari sitting there in the dark because we had just had a wicked, wicked snow storm in Buffalo, that knocked out power for close to a week
Ahhhh.... that single event convinced us that God wanted us down in Florida LOL
